Despite the uncertainty of 2020, the world of franchising is expected to flourish in 2021. Franchise expert Derek Cafferata shares his top 3 reasons why franchising is looking so promising for 2021.

Having begun last year with the outbreak of COVID-19 and learning to live with a new kind of normal, and ending the year with a tumultuous presidential election, many people are hesitant for what this new year will bring.

However, when looking at the business world, there is a positive outlook for the world of franchising. Franchising expert Derek Cafferata, CEO and President of All State Franchise Finders (ASFF), shares three reasons why franchising will flourish in 2021.

Flexibility in the Way Business is Done

We can thank 2020 for teaching so many of us that business can continue, just in a different way. Working from home, Zoom meetings with colleagues and customers, online ordering and the ease of apps, delivery and enhanced technology helped us to realise that we, the community we live in and the world we work in is able to adapt and evolve as needed.

“Franchising has always offered a greater level of flexibility than traditional business,” says Derek Cafferata. “This is one of the reasons why franchising has continued to grow and strengthen over the decades.”

A huge number of franchises offer the flexibility to work from home and those franchises that understand the importance of incorporating technology into their systems and way of selling will thrive in the market that 2020 has created for us moving into this new year of 2021.

Franchising is Attractive

A second reason why franchising is set to flourish in 2021 is because franchising continues to become a more attractive prospect for so many. The COVID-19 pandemic has left many with limited job options. Low-cost franchises, various financing options and low interest rates are drawing more and more younger entrepreneurs into the world of franchising. And the economy is going to be better for this.

“Franchising offers young entrepreneurs the opportunity to push their careers forward while having the support and backing of an established brand,” says Derek. “We are seeing young entrepreneurs in their early 20s keen to buy into a franchise they can build and develop to secure their own futures.”

Franchising is Resilient

And finally, the third reason why franchising has such a positive outlook for 2021 is because franchising is resilient.

“The franchise business model has been around for many years now,” says Derek. “Franchising has successfully survived and flourished through various economic recessions, outbreaks, political upheaval and technological advancements.”

While 2020 changed the way we do life for all of us, many franchises area already getting back to their pre-COVID levels, and some have even grown throughout this time.

So, while we may look back at 2020 as a time of unknown upheaval and change, 2021 offers a far brighter outlook for the franchising business world.
