Green Card Access through Franchising Opportunities
Franchising is a popular ways foreign investors are gaining access to the coveted Green Card. And franchising experts All State Franchise Finders can help.
What is an EB-5 Visa?
An EB-5 Visa is one of the few ways a foreign investor can gain legal permanent residency into the United States, gaining themselves the popular and coveted Green Card. The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa Program was first introduced back in 1990 and has recently been extended under the new Trump Administration. The aim of the EB-5 Visa program is to encourage foreign investment and economic growth in the U.S.
An employment based (EB) program, the EB-5 Visa requires the foreign investor to invest in a business that does, or will, employ at least 10 American employees. While the investment requirement is a minimum of $1 million, if an investor chooses a more rural area to invest in, with a higher unemployment rate, the investment requirement is significantly reduced by half, meaning a foreign investor only need invest $500,000 to meet EB-5 requirements and gain permanent residency.
Franchising the Popular Way to Gain EB-5 Visa Status
Immigrating to a foreign country can be a daunting task, with differences in language, culture and economy. Starting a business in the midst of these differences can be even more daunting.
For this reason, many choose to invest in a franchise opportunity. A franchise business understands the local market, offers an already established brand and generally has a proven record of success in business.
“While an immigrant investor may be very successful in their country of origin, moving to another country to run a successful business is not often an easy thing to achieve,” says Derek Cafferata, CEO and President of All State Franchise Finders. “A successful and well-established franchise offers far greater chances of success and reward for any new immigrant.”
It is not enough to start a business to gain EB-5 Visa entry into the United States. In order for the Visa to be renewed, the business must remain successful and thriving.
Derek believes brand awareness, corporate reputation, set-up support, ongoing training and support and a proven business model are the reasons why buying into an established franchise is the wisest way to gain, and retain, EB-5 Visa entry into the U.S.
