Franchising continues to be one of the fastest-growing business concepts in the U.S. Franchise experts All State Franchise Finders share their top franchise options for 2020.

Dry Cleaning Services

The laundry and dry cleaning industry has seen steady and consistent growth over the past several years and this trend is expected to continue. According to franchise expert Derek Cafferata, of All State Franchise Finders, one of the benefits of investing in a dry cleaning franchise is the upfront franchise costs.

“Buying into a franchise can be an expensive and daunting task,” says Derek Cafferata. “A low-cost upfront franchise fee makes it more accessible for people to invest into their own franchise business.”

Dry cleaning franchises are able to be run on lower staff numbers than other types of franchise industries and offer flexible options for the franchisee. There is the option to choose a mobile dry cleaning service or a laundromat-type business, as well as the option to service the residential or commercial dry cleaning market.

The dry cleaning market is, according to the US Census Bureau, expected to reach an annual revenue of more than $8 billion by 2020. “This is a strong market to invest into,” says Derek. “A market that offers great potential for the seasoned or new franchisee.”

Education

Education services, in particular child education services are consistently increasing in demand. Services that focus on maths, coding, music or art are quite popular, according to Derek. And, as with dry cleaning franchises, the education franchise options available are varied. Whether it is group classes or one-to-one private tutoring, child or adult education, seasonal or year-round services, generalized or specialized education, there is a wide range of opportunities for the budding franchisee within the education sector.

“There are a number of ways to build a strong client base with education franchises,” says Derek. “Associating with local schools and day-care centers is one way many franchisees build their business quickly and effectively.”

Coffee

According to Derek, one of the most popular franchise industries is the coffee industry. While Americans have always loved their coffee, many consumers have become far more savvy and particular with the quality and taste of their daily coffee. The average American spends more than $20 a week on coffee. Americans spend more than $74 billion each year on coffee purchases.

“There has been a significant increase in the number of specialty coffee drinkers right across the U.S,” says Derek. “And this has led to the high demand for quality, specialist coffee outlets.”

One of the driving forces behind this trend towards specialist coffee is the younger demographic who has taken to demanding quality coffee. Between 2008 and 2016, the number of people aged 18 to 24 who regularly consumed specialty coffee on a daily basis increased from 13 percent to 36 percent.

Experts are very confident that this trend towards quality gourmet coffee will only increase.
